Job Description:
Join our team at the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), working towards an empowered and transformed Africa aligned with the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. As a Human Resources Officer in the Human Resources Management Section (HRMS), you'll play a vital role in advancing ECA's strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support on HR matters to managers and staff.
- Lead special HR projects and prepare relevant reports.
- Manage recruitment processes, from identifying vacancies to selecting candidates.
- Administer staff entitlements, benefits, and salary structures.
- Design and implement staff development programs.
- Advise on HR policies, regulations, and rules.
- Conduct salary surveys and classification analysis of jobs.
- Analyze data to identify trends and provide insights for data-driven decision-making.
Competencies:
- Professionalism in applying HR policies and procedures.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Client orientation with a focus on meeting clients' needs.
- Effective performance management and delegation abilities.
Education:
- Advanced university degree in human resources management, business, public administration, social sciences, education, or related field.
- Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years in HR management, administration, or related area.
- UN Common System or similar international organization experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with Umoja or a similar ERP system is a plus.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is desirable.
- Knowledge of another official UN language is a plus.
Assessment:
Evaluation may include an assessment exercise followed by a competency-based interview.
